Meet the friendly faces behind Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge

Best friends since the age of 12, Adrienne and Sandra spent their childhoods in Timaru before overseas adventures, families and careers took them down separate paths. Despite this they stayed close, and a flippant remark while out for dinner resulted in a spur-of -the moment decision to to combine their strengths by starting a joint venture in hospitality.

Just three months later, they took over the Bay Viaduct and the rest, as they say, is history. As business partners, Adrienne and Sandra are dedicated to ensuring every guest feels at home and enjoys all that Timaru has to offer. They look forward to welcoming you and sharing their love for the place they call home.

Sandra

After qualifying as an electrician in 1988, I moved to Victoria, Australia where I raised three boys as a stay-at-home mum for 14 years. I returned to work in a book-keeping capacity before working up to office management roles. At the beginning of 2020 I made the decision to return to NZ to help care for my elderly father. My interests include travelling, touring in a motorhome, various handcrafts and a love of reading.

Adrienne

I am Timaru born and raised, completing my schooling and tertiary education in Timaru. While Keith and I raised our three children I have held office and management roles within the waste and construction industries. My interests include spending time with family and friends, heading to the beach to walk our dogs, making quilts and other crafts, and touring NZ to find those hidden places that are generally missed.

Our stay was awesome the staff were great and the room was very quiet, warm and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. Centrally located and close to a number of great restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay again. Full kitchen if we needed to cook.

Absolutely faultless. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, and great location. Very quiet. Greeting at reception was warm and genuine. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Timaru. Bullocks restaurant is a short walk away and is a 10/10. Highly recommend you give your money to both of these places!

I am a light sleeper and had requested a quiet room. What I got was a beautiful one, away from the road with an awesome bed, a perfectly quiet aircon and a cool spa bath tub. Without having to ask, Leah came out in the morning with a jug of water to de-ice our windscreen. I truly appreciated the stay and I will be back! Thank you!
