Meet the friendly face behind Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge

Since 2023, Sandra has been the proud owner and heart of the Bay Viaduct, where she finds genuine joy in the day-to-day rhythm of hospitality and the stories of the guests she meets. After spending many years in Victoria, Australia where she raised her three sons and built a successful career in account management, Sandra returned to New Zealand in 2020 to care for her father.

Her transition into the motel industry is fueled by a lifelong love for people and a commitment to service. When she isn’t ensuring her guests have a comfortable stay, you’ll likely find Sandra planning her next travel adventure, curled up with a good book, working on a new handicraft project, or enjoying a competitive game of bridge.

Absolutely faultless. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, and great location. Very quiet. Greeting at reception was warm and genuine. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Timaru. Bullocks restaurant is a short walk away and is a 10/10. Highly recommend you give your money to both of these places!

I am a light sleeper and had requested a quiet room. What I got was a beautiful one, away from the road with an awesome bed, a perfectly quiet aircon and a cool spa bath tub. Without having to ask, Leah came out in the morning with a jug of water to de-ice our windscreen. I truly appreciated the stay and I will be back! Thank you!
